Dr. Arvind Lapsiwala

It is difficult to write a cover article about a member who is going to give us his Craft Talk.  After all, we are coming to hear Arvind Lapsiwala talk about his career and his life, not to read about it before hand.  But, we will try to give you some glimpses so that you will enjoy his talk even more.

Now, let’s entice you with some bits and pieces.  Arvind will embellish it with even more interesting information.  He grew up in Surat, India in a family of five boys and six girls.  He still has plenty of family there and strong ties to that community, including establishing a large Secondary English school with over 4000 students. 

After studying and practicing medicine in New York, he went to Texas and studied open heart and vascular surgery under the famed Dr. Denton Cooley in Houston.  He brought this valuable experience to West Covina and has been here since.  One of the interesting aspects of his career has been his very successful development as an entrepreneur and businessman in the health care field.  He has established healthcare facilities specializing in radiology technology and cancer radiation equipment, and currently heads a number of medical groups in our area as President and CEO/owner.  In addition, Arvind heads a construction group that builds new and modern medical facilities to house physicians and their medical practices.

He has been a member of our Rotary club since 1984 and served as Club President in 1994-95.  There is much to tell about his Rotary involvement, in all of our major activities, but let’s hear that from him.  We will also hear, I am sure, about his creative side in painting and as a published author.  Enjoy an outstanding Rotarian!
