2019 Teacher Mini-Grants

Every year West Covina Rotary Club funds mini grants to teacher in our community's districts.  These grants have gone to establish reading centers and resources, enhance language exercises and proficiency, and aid teachers in providing necessary resources for our students.

This program is near and dear to our hearts as it epitomizes our commitment to our youth.  Please ask how you can help these teachers get the tools they need to make our future a brighter prospect.

The Program awards a limited number of grants, not to exceed $300, to individual teachers who want to develop innovative new ideas to enrich student classroom experiences where other sources of funding is not available.

Any kindergarten through grade twelve classroom or special education teacher who is employed by the West Covina Unified School District (WCUSD) is encouraged to fill out the grant application.

Grant applications must be received by October 30, 2019.

A panel of representatives from education, business, and the Rotary Club will review all grant applications that meet the criteria, evaluating them for innovation, benefit to students, and clarity.

Rotary Club of West Covina Foundation provided 14 teacher Mini-Grants in 2018. The Teachers' Mini-Grant Program began in 1985 by the West Covina Rotary Club following the success of a similar program begun the Honeywell Corporation. Individual club members, as well as local businesses sponsor the program through the Rotary Club of West Covina-Foundation.

2019 grant winners will be notified by WCUSD staff on or before November 20, 2019. Awardees will be invited to a ceremony to be held in the WCUSD Board Room on December 02, 2019 at 4p.m. Principals are encouraged to attend if an award is made to their school site.
